How Long Should a Residential Clean Take?

How Long Should a Residential Clean Take?

When looking into hiring residential cleaners for your home, they will often give you a rough time estimate. This blog will help you to narrow down what they should be able to complete within the quoted time estimate to make sure you are getting the best use of your money.

First, we must consider how large the home is. It goes without saying that a four bedroom/four bathroom home will have a drastic difference than a two bedroom/one bathroom apartment.

Let's take the two bedroom example. Our rule of thumb is to roughly add an hour for every bedroom and bathroom the house has when completing a regular clean. This would change if the customer required a deep clean or a post-construction clean, of course. Within the two hours it would take us to finish this two bedroom clean, our checklist would include:

  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Dusting surfaces
  • Bathroom cleaning
  • Vacuuming carpets
  • Emptying garbages
  • Disinfecting countertops, sink, outside of appliances
  • Making beds (upon request)

The client is always welcome to add on any special requests which can sometimes make the clean take a little longer. However, an experienced cleaner should be able to accomplish the aforementioned within an efficient amount of time. If you aren't given an exact quote beforehand, it's always important to let the cleaning team know your budget so that they can work accordingly without going overboard.

At Just Too Clean, you can use our online booking tool to determine the cost of your clean and how long you can expect it to take. We value transparency as a business and are always available to answer any other questions regarding our services!
